Welcome Friends & Travellers!!!
Was a Painting by Renoir
Come on in, have a chair and a cup or glass and stay awhile.
This site focuses on poetry. I read it, write it & have a particular
liking for haiku. You will find poetry by famous poets, some poets I
have met on the Net that have the potential to be famous and, of
course, some by me. Spiritual matters are of more than just a passing
interest to me and that is why you'll find some of my essays such as
In Defense of theEgo or my poem Transcendance. posted around
the web. Or!, you could just go here.
To some I'm known as soji, to some as Gary, to still others I am simply
hey you! By whatever name, or not, you choose to call me(and if
you can't call, a little e-mail would be nice)I hope you'll take a few
moments to explore my pages, they've been almost 72 years in the
making.
My literary tastes run to sci-fi(the Asimov/Bradbury/ LeGuin schools;
(sorry Trekkies), novels by Tom Robbins, Kurt Vonnegut, Richard Brautigan,
Jack Kerouac & Douglas Adams. Poets I enjoy include Richard Brautigan,
e.e.cummings,T.S.Eliot, James Kavanaugh and Elizabeth Barret Browning.
Spiritual mentors range from Hugh Prather Jr.,Thaddeus Golas(Lazy Mans
Guide to Enlightenment), Alan Watts and Paul Cureton, to DT Suzuki,
J. Krishnamurti, Richard Bach, Shirley MacLaine and Elsa Joy Blair.
You'll find Elsa Joys site to be a real spiritual oasis and, she has some
super grafix links!
So, as long as we're on the subject of links, I think you'll find it worth
your time to peruse the links indicated above and those I've listed
below because each one is an enriching experience and they in turn can
lead youto more links of substance. But, if you tire of the pages below,
think of the novelists, poets and philosophers I have listed above as links
and checkout their pages at your local library or bookstore.
So, friends,(could be if you've stuck around this long)love one another,
love thy neighbor as thyself, and love yourself as the divine being you
truly are. If we can all do that, just that, then we're well on our way
to paradise on Earth.
Namaste(I honor the light within you)
soji

Second Helping:
There is a part of me that wants to write, a part that wants
to theorize, a part that wants to sculpt, a part that wants to
teach.....To force myself into a single role, to decide to be
just one thing in life would kill off large parts of me. Rather,
I recognize that I live now, and I will do what I want to do at
this moment and not what I decide was best for me yesterday.
