south wind —
    the smell of rain
    and gardenias

    T-ball—
    the centerfielder chases
    butterflies

    clear prairie sky
    from the stubbled field
    a meadowlark's song

    obscured by smoke
    from a burning hillside
    the rising moon

    early butterfly
    searching for flowers
    dances with snowflakes

    visitor's center
    sparrows hopping
    among the daffodils

    morning fog
    a crow spreads his wings
    against the pale sun

    roadside diner
    a fly inches across
    distant hills
